The Dovetail Artisans Featured Artists

Over the years we have met creative and talented artists, many of whom are local. They work with woods, glass that is hand-painted, fused or stained, jewelry in sterling, pewter, mixed metals and beads, and fabric, to mention a few. The Dovetail Artisans is a celebration of these wonderfully talented artists, and it is our pleasure to introduce you to some of them.

Spectacular jewelry by Renee Hickman

Based in Portland, Oregon, Renee strives to create work that is strong, sexy and smart.  These cuffs are made from recycled tea, beer and soda cans and then wrapped in a white brass allow to give them bright eye-catching appeal.  We carry a full line of cuffs, earrings and adjustable size rings so come in and try on this beautiful Eco-minded “Hardwear by Renee” jewelry.

Inspiration in clocks, tiles, magnets and coasters!

Clay Spirit is a two person studio and after working in clay for many years they decided it was time to take what they loved most about their work and make it brighter, lighter and more fun. Every aspect of the work and production of the finished product is done in their studio in Saint Petersburg, Florida, USA by by them.

Each design is hand drawn using Prisma Color pencils, then blended and polished to create a seamless transition of one color to the next. With the use of bright colors and intricate details, these whimsical designs and motivational words speak directly to the soul, an uplifting message that says we are all capable of great things. We believe that it is important that the child in all of us see these messages on a daily basis and use them as a motivating force in life. Our deepest desire is that you will feel encouraged and inspired to make your world a better place.

Women And The Hourglass Greeting Cards

The idea for her Women And The Hourglass cards came to artist Marylou Falstreau in an early morning dream.  She was talking to someone softly about women and time passing and how the word “hourglass” is used to describe a woman’s shape, if she is lucky. 

“Curiously, I have been thinking about aging and how time is speeding up…and about lessons learned and the potential for growth, even still.”

These cards are perfect to send to your friends or keep for yourself, or both!  They are suitable for framing and will keep you smiling and thoughtful.
